Membership
You may now pay membership
fees online at Regatta
Central. Click on "Clubs," then "KRA."
Individual memberships for KRA are $200 annually.
Dues cover the year from January 1 to December 31.
- Family membership is
$200
for first member of family and $50 for each additional family member (children
under 21 who are not rowing with the KRA Juniors).
- If a member is paying
for shell storage, then the membership fee is
discounted $25.
- College students -- with rowing experience -- may row with KRA in the summer (May - August) for
$75.
During the school year, collegiate membership is $75
per semester.
- Shell storage is provided for members in our boathouse for an additional $200 per year for singles,
and $250 for doubles. Space is very limited.

- Learn-to-Row
Members: These are participants in KRA lessons with a qualified instructor.
There may be a program fee for this level, but these
members do not pay dues and do not have unsupervised
rowing and equipment-use privileges.
- Full Membership: Once members
receive training,
pass a proficiency level in sweep rowing and/or
sculling, pay dues, submit all the required
forms (i.e., insurance waiver and contact
information), and agree to serve on a standing
committee, they have access to the shells for recreational rowing 7 days a week.
Organized practices for members are held
three (or more) times per week, providing coaching, indoor strength training, and winter workouts.
- Youth Members: Youth members are under the age of 18. Youth members have
the same access as full members to KRA equipment, facilities,
and training while under supervision, and do not have
voting privileges.
- Collegiate Members:
This category of membership is for actively enrolled
undergraduate students, for a period not to exceed
five years. Requirements include submittal of
required forms (i.e., insurance waiver and contact
information), payment of appropriate fees, and a
demonstration of a minimum level of competency in sweep rowing and/or

- Guest Members: Guest members are individuals who wish to row as guests of individual
members (maximum: 3X). All guests must submit an insurance waiver indemnifying the KRA prior to
rowing.

Directions to KRA's Ned
McWherter Park dock
Take James White Parkway off of I-40; stay on James White as it curves to the left; get off onto Riverside Drive before crossing the bridge; park will be on the right directly under the bridge.
Alternatively, take exit 389
off of I-40 to Broadway/Hall of Fame Drive. Go south on
Hall of Fame past the Civic Coliseum, then turn left on E.
Hill Avenue. Turn right onto the James White parkway, and
immediately bear right onto the Riverside Avenue exit.
Note: Beginning May 1,
2008, I-40 eastbound traffic to the park must take the James
White Parkway route and I-40 westbound traffic must take the
Hall of Fame Drive route. This is due to interstate closure
downtown until July 2009.
